This was always going to be a tough match - we had drawn with them earlier in the season and the players all wanted to keep building on the positive work from training and previous matches. The first quarter was end to end with both teams having chances. Great defensive work and great saves from Zoe kept them out and in the 12th minute after some a good passage of play, Jess put a ball across from the right that found Aoife in a great position at the back post to slot it home. We talked about getting outcomes when in the attacking D and in the 2nd quarter we won our first penalty corner of the match. Jess put the ball out to Pat who got the shot away and after a save on the line, Jess was there to take the rebound and give us a 2 - 0 lead. We were then hit on the break by Wanderers and went into half time 2 - 1 up.

We were punished for switching off at the start of 2nd half and allowed them to dribble into the D from a free hit and a very good strike found the back of the net. Now 2 all. The players dug deep and very quickly another move down the right saw a replica of our first goal with Aoife again scoring at the back post. Leading 3 - 2 going into the final quarter made us so determined to continue pushing forward. It was great to see all players working hard and really trying to play good passing hockey. With 5 mins left in the game, Pat dribbled into the D and shot from the top found the back of the net. A very impressive 4 - 2 win for the #mightytwos. Our young players were excellent throughout the game with special mention to Diya who had a fantastic game at left back. Also great to see the youngsters creating and scoring goals #thefutureisbright
